1. Who we are

2. The law

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

3. What we collect and why

  • Orders: name, email, delivery and billing address, phone number (optional), order details — to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).
  • Payments: handled by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna), who process card data under their own policies.
  • Website visits: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed — for security and to run the site (legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Newsletter: email address — only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)); you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Legal obligations: keeping accounting records (Article 6(1)(c)).

4. Who we share it with

  • Carriers: Royal Mail, Evri or DPD (to deliver your order)
  • Payment providers: Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna
  • Shopify Inc. (our e-commerce platform), which processes data on our behalf

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum) are in place.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (basket, security). Analytics and marketing cookies are only used with your consent, which you can change at any time through our cookie banner or your browser settings.

6. How long we keep it

  • Order and accounting records: 6 years
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe
  • Cookies: from the end of your session up to 24 months, depending on the cookie

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise them, email contact@kleine-genies.com.

8. Complaints

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF — ico.org.uk — 0303 123 1113. If you live in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation also applies and you may also complain to the data protection authority of your country.
